Position Overview
The Senior Proposal Writer is responsible for creating and responding to technical corporate proposals and bids. The role will require a strong technical writer who will be responsible for copywriting, editing, grammar review, and proofreading all proposals.
Key Functions & Duties:
- Support the environmental team with time management and production of all proposal requests
- Organize material and complete writing assignment according to set standards regarding order, clarity, conciseness, style, and terminology
- Research and build knowledge about products, services, technology, or concepts to be documented
- Prepare or commission graphics and illustrations to elaborate on or complement technical writing
- Writing and editing various proposal sections including but not limited to summary’s project descriptions, and qualification summaries
- Lead and/or support the development of proposal artwork, cover pages, layouts, as well as presentations and organization charts customized for each project
- Meet with subject matter experts in order to ensure specialized topics are appropriately addressed and discussed
- Produce electronic documentation in addition to hard copy manuals
- Work with sales and marketing colleagues to ensure the finished documentation meets product requirements
- Maintain a comprehensive library of technical terminology and documentation
- Analyze documents to maintain continuity of style of content
- Manage updates and revisions to technical literature
- Professionally interacts with colleagues, members of the public, clients, and business associates.
- Ensure strong time management skills are practiced as timely completion of projects are a critical part of the job
- Complies with all company policies and applicable laws.
Required Qualifications and Skills:
- Bachelor of Arts in (English, Marketing or Communications) preferred
- 4 years experience in construction technical writing is required
- Experience in construction technical writing or in construction is required
- Understands how to engage with internal and external clients in a customer-centric way
- Strong attention to detail with the ability to produce accurate and quality work under tight deadlines and minimal supervision
- Expert level in MS Office, MS Project, Viewpoint, AutoCAD Reader, and other miscellaneous software that may be contractually required
- Well organized and able to work accurately and effectively under pressure
- Possess excellent interpersonal communication skills
